This
huge figure is believed to be the largest commercially available
specimen in existence. It was created 19 years ago using a 6 MeV pulsed
linear
accelerator (LINAC) that has
long since been decommissioned. It
was irradiated on two sides creating two parallel charge planes, and
then
discharged. The interior plane-to-plane discharges are
similar to some of our
smaller Style 16 "Windblown Lightning" Figures, but obviously MUCH
larger.
The custom light base (included) is solid walnut, beautifully crafted
and finished in
natural color satin lacquer. It has a velvet-lined cavity that snugly
cradles the specimen. Two rows of LED's illuminate the two charge
planes. We normally provide one row of bright white Light Emitting Diodes
(LED's), and a second row of brilliant electric blue LED's.
We can aso provide all white or all blue LED's as other customer options.
Because
of its size and depth, it's difficult to fully capture the exquisite detail and
beauty of
this magnificent specimen.
