3" x 6" x 2" "Lich Bricks" - gorgeous 3D Specimens

These brick-like specimens are brilliantly polished on all surfaces. They were irradiated on one side, rotated 180 degrees, and irradiated again to create two parallel space charge planes. The specimens either self-discharged during irradiation or were manually discharged upon completion. The forms and locations of the discharges depends upon when the discharge actually occurs. Because of the many combinations, we get a wide variety of complex electrical interactions between the two space charge layers, resulting in very unusual and spectacular 3D  Lichtenberg Figures.  These figures are similar to our style 16 Figures... but they're TWICE as large. In addition to branching discharges within one or more planes, a variety of discharges often connects the two planes. Some of these specimens look like a time lapse photograph of a raging lightning storm, others are similar to African Acacia trees, while others have delicate plane-to-plane discharges that remind me of lightning sprites that occur in the upper atmosphere above raging thunderstorms.

T
he following images do not begin to capture the depth, clarity, and jewel like beauty of these figures. When i
lluminated by a multicolor or bright white LED base, these become sparkling jewels, glowing from within. Laser crystal art can't begin to match the exquisite detail and intricate complexity of the thousands of fractal discharges inside these prisms.

Please describe which type(s) of discharges you prefer, and we'll try to find one that is similar. Some styles, such as "Heavy Weather", underwent heavy, multiple discharges while being irradiated. These repetitive discharges created a degree of charring along the larger paths that add a different character to the piece. The discoloration disappears when the specimen is illuminated, and these specimens are among some of the most complex and fascinating specimens in our entire collection.
Although the internal patterns vary from specimen to specimen, we guarantee that you will be satisfied with your purchase or we'll offer to replace your item or offer you a full refund.
