Stoneridge Engineering is THE Source
for Rare and Beautiful Lichtenberg Figures!
(Page updated 09/14/22 - may change without notice)

Spectacular 3.7" x 3.7" x 2" 3D Beveled "Lichtenberg Jewels"
Now back in stock! These specimens were specially fabricated from a block of two-inch thick cast acrylic that was cut and beveled along all corners and then brilliantly polished on all surfaces. They were irradiated on one large surface, rotated 180 degrees, then irradiated once again to create two internal planes of high-voltage electrical charge. Depending upon the where we discharge the sculpture, a wide variety of complex electrical interactions can occur between the two charge layers, creating an interesting variety of unique and spectacular discharges.  These figures are truly 3-Dimensional, and are similar to our Style 16 sculptures. However, these specimens are significantly larger, and the additional facets beautifully reflect and refract the internal figures in fascinating and unexpected ways. Not only are there branching discharges within each plane, other discharges connect the two planes. Some of these specimens look like a time lapse photograph of a raging lightning storm, others are similar to African Acacia trees, while others have plane-to-plane discharges that resemble some forms of upper-atmospheric lightning, such as sprites and gigantic jets that occur above very powerful  thunderstorms. Although the internal patterns vary considerably between specimens, we guarantee that you will be completely satisfied with your purchase.

T
he following images really don't capture the true depth, clarity, and jewel like character of these figures. When i
lluminated by one of our LED bases, these become sparkling jewels, glowing from within. Laser crystal art can't begin to match the exquisite detail and intricate complexity of the thousands of fractal discharges inside these prisms.

Please Note:
The beveled edges of our currently-stocked sculptures are slightly smaller (approximately 5/16" wide)
than those shown in the images below. We needed to migrate to a new fabricator since our original fabricator went out of business. However, the various discharge styles are very similar to examples shown below.
