for Rare and Beautiful Lichtenberg Figures!

Spectacular 4" x 4" x 2" 3D Beveled "Lichtenberg Jewels"
 - DISCONTINUED -

These specimens were specially prepared from a one-time purchase of optical quality material from a specialty fabricator. These jewel-like specimens are beveled along all corners and brilliantly polished on all surfaces. They were irradiated on one large surface, rotated 180 degrees, then irradiated again to create two parallel space charge planes. Depending upon the location and the timing of the discharges a wide variety of complex electrical interactions occurred between the two space charge layers, creating an interesting variety of unique and spectacular discharges.  These figures are truly 3-Dimensional, and are similar to our Style 16 Figures, however, these specimens are significantly larger, and the additional facets beautifully reflect and refract the internal figures in fascinating and unexpected ways. Not only are there branching discharges within each plane, discharges also connect the two planes. Some of these specimens look like a time lapse photograph of a raging lightning storm, others are similar to African Acacia trees, while others have plane-to-plane discharges that resemble lightning sprites that occur in the upper atmosphere above powerful  thunderstorms. Although the internal patterns will vary between specimens, we guarantee that you will be satisfied with your purchase.

T
he following images really don't capture the true depth, clarity, and jewel like character of these figures. When i
lluminated by a multicolor or white LED base, these become sparkling jewels, glowing from within. Laser crystal art can't begin to match the exquisite detail and intricate complexity of the thousands of fractal discharges inside these prisms.

Please describe which type of discharge(s) you prefer, and we will try to find one that is similar. Some styles, such as "Heavy Weather", underwent heavy, multiple discharges while being irradiated. These repetitive discharges created a degree of darkenning along the main discharge paths that adds a different character to the piece. Although the caramel coloration disappears once the specimen is illuminated, some customers may find these specimens less appealing. Rest assured that your satisfaction is always  guaranteed by Stoneridge Engineering. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason we will gladly replace your item or offer you a full refund!
